Trauma and PTSD

When the past doesn’t stay in the past.

You’re not overreacting. You’re responding to a hard experience the way many people do.

You’re hyper-aware of everything. Or numb. You might avoid certain places, people, or conversations and not fully know why. Maybe you’ve lost whole chunks of time or can’t pay attention. Maybe you keep replaying what happened—either on a loop, or when you least expect it.

If you've lived through repeated or long-term trauma, you might also struggle with low self-worth, trust issues, or emotional overwhelm. That kind of trauma may be what’s been termed Complex PTSD (CPTSD). It’s just as real, and just as worthy of care.

Even when life looks fine on the outside, something in you feels disconnected, scattered, or stuck. Relationships are hard. Sleep is worse. Your body’s tense, and you can’t shake the feeling that something’s about to go wrong.

That’s not a personality flaw. That’s trauma.

Therapy for trauma isn’t about talking through everything that happened.

It’s about learning how to stop bracing for impact every moment of the day.

I specialize in evidence-based therapies for PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociation. I don’t push you into anything before you’re ready, but I do provide structure and clarity so you know we’re working toward something.

We'll figure out what’s actually keeping you stuck—and use proven approaches to help you process what happened in a way your mind and body can handle. It’s not easy work, but it’s doable. And it can change your life.

Specialized trauma therapy in NYC and via telehealth in NY, NJ, CT, MA, VA, and HI.

You don’t need a new personality. You need a system that’s no longer stuck in survival mode.

What healing looks like here:

  • You feel more present—in your body, relationships, and in your life in general

  • You sleep more soundly and startle less easily

  • You stop avoiding things that matter to you

  • You can tolerate strong emotions without shutting down or lashing out

  • You begin to see yourself with more compassion and less shame

  • You begin to trust your own reactions

Let’s Work Together

If you’re ready to feel more in control, connected, and less ruled by the past, therapy can help.

Not sure if this is the right fit? That’s okay. Reach out and ask. I’ll give you honest answers, and if I’m not the right person, I’ll try to point you toward someone who is.
