Somatic Experiencing (SE™) is a therapeutic model that focuses on the body to heal trauma or adverse life experiences and other stress related issues. It’s a multidisciplinary approach that involves physiology, psychology, biology, and neuroscience to name a few. One of the beliefs is that a traumatic experience can cause problems in the nervous system that prevent people from fully processing the event. As a result, they can get “stuck,” which can significantly impact daily living. People learn strategies and tools to resolve problematic physiological states and increase quality of life and well-being.
