Dialectical Behavior Therapy or DBT is a type of treatment that helps children, adolescents, and adults learn new skills to more effectively manage their difficult and distressful emotions, behaviors, and/or relationships. DBT involves the use of mindfulness or being in the present moment, increasing the ability to tolerate distress, learning ways to regulate emotions across different situations, and developing more interpersonal effectiveness in relationships.
